Construction to Start Soon on Brookfield Chick-fil-A

Grand opening expected by the end of summer, early fall.

Construction to Start Soon on Brookfield Chick-fil-A
After a long, cold winter, construction crews are preparing to break ground on the new Chick-fil-A restaurant on Federal Road in Brookfield, the first of the franchise in Connecticut.

“Construction is slated for any day now,” Chick-fil-A representative Brenda Morrow said Monday, with the end of construction and grand opening date on schedule for “late August or September.”

The fast-food chain — made famous by its chicken sandwiches and the CEO’s public views on traditional and homosexual marriage — g ained approval from Brookfield’s zoning boards last spring to open at the former site of Burger King.

The news was met with both cheers and threats to boycott.

Planning and Zoning Commission members in Enfield voted last Thursday to approve a second location on Hazard Ave. and another is being considered by zoners in Wallingford.
