The Board of Education elected Leslee Hill as it new chair Wednesday night.
Hill said she is grateful to those who have taught her so much in her five years on the board and said it will be an honor to lead.
“I’m very excited to keep us moving forward,” Hill said. “Thank you very much for the confidence.”
Hill replaces Beth Kandrysawtz as chair. At the board’s previous meeting Kandrysawtz said that after three years she was ready to let someone take the helm.
“It’s really been a rewarding experience,” she said.
Kandrysawtz, however, said she was willing to serve as vice-chair and Tuesday night, here colleagues elected her to the position.
Laurie McKenna was elected board secretary.
All votes were unanimous.
