Second Perry Polderman Benefit set for Saturday

Event at Rice Fields to feature live music, raffles, food and more to help town employee and local business owner as he recovers from injuries sustained in accident.

Second Perry Polderman Benefit set for Saturday

This weekend a second benefit will be held for Perry Polderman, a town employee injured during a September motorcycle accident.

In October, Polderman's co-workers from the R1-198 chapter of the National Association of Government Employees held a pasta dinner to benefit Polderman, who is the town's transfer station attendant. He also owns American Shooters in town.

Canton resident Cheryl Ouellette, founder of the Outspoken-N Girlz motorcycle riders group, is organizing a second benefit set to take place from noon to 5 p.m. at Rice Fields on Saturday, Nov. 3. While the event involves a short motorcycle ride through Canton and neighboring towns, there is plenty for the non rider.

Polderman plans to attend the event, which includes a disc jockey, live music from the Johnny Larsen Band with Carolyn Rae, the Haymond Girls, food and much more. Many vendors will be featured at the event and so many have come forward with services, raffle donations and more, Ouellette said.

"Really, really good people have come together," she said.

Cost is $25 for riders and adult attendees. Motorcycle passengers get a $5 discount and it will be $10 for kids under 12 and seniors. There will be a cash bar.

Schedule at Rice Fields is as follows:

  • Registration — Noon to 1 p.m.
  • Ride — 1 to approximately 2 p.m.
  • Raffle — 2 to 3 p.m.
  • Disc Jockey — Noon to 3 p.m.
  • Food/Entertainment — 3 to 5 p.m.
