It’s time for the 48th Annual Collinsville Jamboree!
The annual family friendly event, which benefits the town of Canton Volunteer Fire & EMS Department, kicked off Wednesday night and will continue through Saturday, May 17.
The carnival features traditional rides, games of chance, food, and a beer and wine garden. Of course, there's the always popular fireworks display and a firefighter’s parade.
The Jamboree Field is located at 91 Powder Mill Road, Collinsville, Conn. It's open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. each night.
Bracelets cost $22 for each night, and give you unlimited access to carnival rides from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.Fireworks Display — Saturday, May 17: NEW DATE
The fireworks display will begin between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Originally set for Friday, the fireworks will take place on Saturday due to the rain in the forecast.
Firefighters Parade — Saturday, May 17
The parade will start at 6 p.m. on Simonds Avenue at the high school and follow Route 179 to Route 202, ending at Powder Mill Road, near the fair grounds, at about 7:15 p.m.
Portions of Simonds Avenue, Dyer Avenue, Route 179, Town Bridge Road, Route 44, and Route 202 will be closed to allow the parade to pass through.
Organizers encourage people to plan accordingly and take an alternate route if you are required to travel in the area during this time period. Attendees are also asked to refrain from using parking lots of businesses not associated with the events.
