Katharine S. Gillespie Named Law Firm Principal

Dzialo, Pickett & Allen, P.C. is pleased to announce that Katharine S. Gillespie has been elected a Principal of the law firm.  Ms. Gillespie is excited to have accepted this position and looks forward to contributing to the current and future success of DP&A.  She will be present in both the Middletown and Old Saybrook offices.

Ms. Gillespie joined the firm of Dzialo, Pickett & Allen, P.C. in 2004 as a law clerk while still attending law school and became an associate attorney in 2006. She is a member of the Middlesex County Bar Association and the Connecticut Bar Association. Ms. Gillespie practices in the areas of family law, real estate law, probate litigation and estates.

Ms. Gillespie’s family law practice includes private mediation services, divorce, legal separation, custody and other family related issues.  Attorney Gillespie has demonstrated experience in family litigation and motion practice and believes this experience to be vital in understanding the rights and obligations of parties with respect to alimony, child support, and the range of other complex issues that may arise in any family case.  Ms. Gillespie was named to the 2013 Rising Stars list (as seen in Connecticut Magazine) as one of the top up-and-coming family law attorneys in Connecticut.

Ms. Gillespie currently heads the real estate department at DP&A and will continue to advise and represent families in important home purchases and businesses in complex commercial property acquisitions and financing.

Ms. Gillespie attended of Quinnipiac University, School of Law (JD) where she graduated magna cum laude and served as Associate Editor of the Quinnipiac Probate Law Journal.  She resides in Berlin, Connecticut with her husband, Matthew Atkinson, and their two young children.
