$1M Donation to Benefit Danbury Hospital
The Hawley family made the gift to aid spine surgery and research.

A local family has donated $1 million to Danbury Hospital’s spine center.
According to an article in the News Times, Carolyn and Ervie “Bud” Hawley made the donation that will establish an endowment for spinal surgery.
The Spine Center Medical Director Dr. David L. Kramer will be the first recipient of the Ervie and Carolyn Hawley Endowed Chair in Orthopaedic Spine Surgery, the news item said.

Ervie Hawley is a land developer and has been donating to the hospital since 1965, according to the News Times.
