Danbury Filmmaker Hosts Facebook Halloween Night Horror Movie Premiere

Danbury native Angel Rosa is the founder and director of Danbury-based independent film production company, Hat City Pictures.

Danbury native Angel Rosa is the founder and director of Danbury-based independent film production company, Hat City Pictures. Last weekend he premiered his original short film Only Moments to a packed house at Two Steps.

Only Moments is Hat City Pictures’ fourth short film and was shown along with Rosa’s other short film, Laundromat.

Only Moments stars Kate Billard, Angela Bowman, and Eric Schuster. The film explores the nature of relationships with time and people and introduces the audience to three very busy lives in progress. The film was written, directed, and produced by Angel Rosa. Jim Chiaramonte is the Executive Producer and Danbury’s John Balis is also a producer.

On Friday, October 31, Hat City Pictures will host a Facebook movie premiere of their horror short, Laundromat beginning at 9 p.m. On Halloween night, Facebook users can type “Laundromat Facebook Premiere” in the search area, find the page, and join the event. The link to view the short will be up until midnight. Parental discretion is advised. Viewers can expect mildly graphic content, strong language and brief nudity.

Rosa says Laundromat is “a frenetic and creepy tale about obsession, compulsion‒and cosmic microwave background noise. Johnny is fixated on a woman he sees each Thursday night at his local Laundromat. He seems to know intimate details about her personal life and her daily routine. Like when she cleans her apartment. Then one night Johnny builds up enough courage to finally approach her, only to realize that she isn’t there.”

The short film stars Johnny Le’Jour and Talisa Rosado-Lamp and was written and directed by Angel Rosa. rMediA owner Renato Ghio is the Director of Photography. The film was edited by Justin Z Torres. The associate producers are Damon Kimble and James Chiaramonte.

Rosa works a “day job” and works on his films in his “free time.” A single dad of a 10-year-old girl, Rosa said she is his inspiration. “Ten years ago my life changed dramatically. What had been in the back of my mind, on some dusty shelf labeled ‘hopes and dreams’, suddenly took on a whole new life. My daughter helped me to see things not only as potentialities, but as unrealized actualities. I know it sounds unbelievably corny, but she opened up my heart and soul to the wonderful possibilities of the life experience. Not to mention the fact that as a father I was faced with legacy building. I no longer ‘get’ inspired, I am locked in inspiration mode 24/7. It’s delightfully maddening at times. Believe me, I count my blessings daily.”
