Danbury Firefighters Tackle Tractor Trailer Blaze On I-84
Danbury firefighters tackled an early morning blaze on Interstate 84 Thursday.
DANBURY, CT — Firefighters tackled an early morning blaze on Interstate 84 Thursday.
The Danbury Fire Department was dispatched to I-84 East in the area of Exit 2 around 2:30 following the report of a tractor trailer fire.
First responders found the cab of the truck fully engulfed in flames, quickly extending to the trailer. The driver was able to safely exit the tractor trailer prior to the arrival of the fire department.

"This fire was complicated by ruptured saddle tanks, which prompted a Hazmat and DEEP response," fire officials reported on social media.
I-84 East was closed for approximately 45 minutes, according to officials. There was no hazard to the public.
