Danbury Police Log: Middle River Road Burglary, Sexual Assault

The Danbury Police Department provided the following information. A person charged with a crime is innocent until having been convicted in court.

charged three people with burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary Monday at about 3:30 p.m. after a break-in on Middle River Road. Police said they received a call saying the caller was watching two women and a men taking electronics from his neighbor's house and putting them in a truck. Police said when they pulled the truck over, each of the three people offered a different explanation of where the electronics came from. The victim was able to identify the stolen items, so police charged Joshua Urban, 26, 11 Spring St., with third-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary. The additional charges for everyone include third-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny. Urban was held on a $100,000 bond. At the same time, Jessica Bells, 21, also 11 Spring St., was charged with third-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary. Bells was also charged with the above larceny charge and the conspiracy to commit larceny charge. At the same time, Carolyn Spletzer, 54, was charged with third-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit third degree burglary. Spletzer was also charged with the two larceny charges above. Both Spletzer and Bells were held on $50,000 bonds.

In a separate incident, Danbury Police charged Carlos Castro, 52, with first-degree sexual assault and two counts of risk of injury to a minor in a case that occurred in Danbury. Castro was charged Monday at about 10 a.m. Castro was charged on a warrant and was held on a $250,000 bond for an appearance in Danbury Superior Court today.
