Danbury Fire Displaces Couple and Their Pets

Firefighters extinguished an attic blaze on Ball Pond Road that displaced two people and their dogs on Saturday night.

DANBURY, CT — Firefighters extinguished an attic blaze that displaced two people and their dogs on Saturday night.

The Danbury Fire Department was alerted to the fire at 9:18 p.m. First responders on the scene at 95 Ball Pond Road called for a tanker from the Ball Pond Volunteer Fire Company to assist.

Emergency medical services from Danbury Hospital, Danbury police, Eversource technicians, and the Fire Marshal's Office were also called in to assist.

The fire was under control in about 25 minutes. Firefighters reported there "was some difficulty getting to some pockets of fire forcing crews to conduct an extensive overhaul of the residence." The Red Cross was requested to the scene for two adults and four dogs that were displaced due to the damage.

No injuries were reported. The Danbury Fire Marshal's Office is in the process of investigating the cause of the fire which is currently deemed as undetermined.
