CEO of Datto in Norwalk, on CT Magazine's '40 Under 40' List

McChord founded the company in 2007; in 2012, 2013 and 2014, it was on the Inc. 500 list. Now he's on Connecticut Magazine's list.

Austin McChord, who founded Datto Backup, a Norwalk-based tech company that helps businesses with disaster and backup services, has been named to Connecticut Magazine’s “40 Under 40” list of “this year’s best and brightest among Generation Next.”

“In eight short years,” the magazine said in its article, “McChord has taken Datto Backup from a one-man basement startup to one of the fastest-growing tech companies in the nation, topping high double-figure revenue for three years straight and employing more than 400 globally.”

According to McChord’s biography page on the Datto Backup website, the privately held company, founded in 2007, “has made the coveted Inc. 500 for three consecutive years, in 2012, 2013 and 2014. The company has also received numerous industry awards, for company growth, product excellence and technical support.
