Driver Dies in Darien I-95 Vehicle Fire

DARIEN, CT- A Bridgeport man was killed after his vehicle crashed and caught on fire on I-95 in Darien Tuesday.

Around 5:36 p.m. a vehicle traveling on I-95 southbound in one of the center lanes swerved left toward the median divider and then right toward the shoulder. The accident happened prior to the Darien rest area.

It then went off the road into a wooded area and hit several trees, according to State Police. The vehicle caught fire and became fully engulfed with the driver trapped inside.

Jimmy Munoz, 35, of Bridgeport was declared deceased at the scene and was identified by his driver's license.
