Fire Destroys Golf Carts, Mechanical Equipment At Darien Country Club

DARIEN, CT — A fire destroyed nearly 40 golf carts and mechanical equipment at Wee Burn Country Club in Darien on Wednesday evening, according to NBC Connecticut.

The fire broke out in a maintenance shed that contained golf carts and other equipment around 4:30 p.m., NBC Connecticut said. An employee was taken to the hospital for the treatment of smoke inhalation.

The fire marshal's office is investigating the cause of the fire. NBC Connecticut said police do not believe the blaze was set intentionally.
