For Parents of the College-Bound: Financial Aid Talk

Here's information on a talk about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and a video and link to a federal government website, to bring you up to speed even before the talk.

For Parents of the College-Bound: Financial Aid Talk
Parents of students applying for financial aid may want to attend a talk, "Cracking the FAFSA: Free Application for Federal Student Aid" at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Darien Library.

Daniel M. Patti, a certified financial planner, will present information intended to help "parents of college-bound students want to make sure they get all of the financial aid that is available to them," according to an announcement on the Darien Library website.

The announcement continues: "This presentation will explain how to get the most out of what is available and provide tips for parents to have honest conversations with their children on college costs and family budgets. Recommended for parents of 8th through 12th grade students."

You can also find out more on FAFSA from the U.S. Department of Education video attached to this article and from this federal government website.

(If the library parking lot fills up, additional street parking is available on Thurndal Circle (on the other side of Nielsen's Florists), for this or any other evening or weekend events.)
