Sadie Natonski, 97, Wife, Mother, Friend, Nurse, New Canaan Resident Since 1955
A memorial Mass will take place at 10 a.m., Saturday.

Sadie C. Natonski, 97 of New Canaan, CT, passed away peacefully at her home on Jan. 15, 2015. Mrs Natonski was born on April 6, 1917 in the village of Averill Park, NY to the late Stephen and Eva Strenges.
Growing up poor in Amsterdam, NY, Sadie lost her mother to scarlet fever at the age of 14. Together with her father she helped raise her two younger siblings. A graduate of Wilbur Lynch High School in Amsterdam, she supported the war effort during WW II by working for General Electric in Schenectady, NY making tubes for radars.

In 1946 she married the love of her life, Frank Natonski. They were married for over 67 years before he passed away in 2014. They moved to New Canaan in 1955 when Frank’s job with the GE Executive Flight Service relocated from upstate New York to White Plains.
In 1966 Sadie earned her license as a practical nurse through the J.M. Wright Technical School. She also worked for the Noroton Publishing Company for over 20 years. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the Pegasus Project and a parishioner of Saint Aloysius Catholic Church.

She is survived by her son LtGen Richard F. Natonski USMC (Ret) and his wife Barbara of Woodbridge, VA, three grandchildren, David and his wife Pepper, Katie, and Elizabeth. She also recently welcomed her first great grandchild, Mary Parks. Sadie is also survived by her sister, Nell Duncan, of Scotia, NY and her beloved caregiver, Kate Kubriashvili. Her brother, John, predeceased her.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Saint Aloysius Church in New Canaan on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 at 10 a.m..
