A 21-year-old Shelton man who broke into two Darien homes last October, according to police, was charged with the crimes on Thursday.

Darien police gave this account of the incidents and arrest of Conner Buckley, the second man charged in one of the burglaries:

On Oct. 2, a Mystic Lane home was broken into and silverware and jewelry were taken. On Dec. 5, Darien police arrested Eammon Donnelly who had acted with Buckley in committing that burglary.

Buckley was also charged in connection with a burglary Oct. 12 on Scout Trail in which the house was entered while the homeowner and his 10-year-old daughter were still at home. Police believe the presence of the homeowner and his daughter scared off the suspects, and nothing was taken.

Buckley, of 85 Oak Ave., Shelton, already in jail in connection with burglary charges in other towns, was charged Thursday when he appeared in state Superior Court in Stamford.

For the Darien cases, he was charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree burglary, two counts of conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, second-degree larceny, third-degree larceny—all felonies.

He was already in jail in connection with the burglary charges, but was held in lieu of an additional $5,000 bond on the Darien charges. His next appearance in court is scheduled for Jan. 4.
