Wouldn't Call a Friend for Cab Fare, So He Had to Call One for Bail
Police say they tried to convince a Darien man, 30, that he should find a way to get cab fare, but after 45 minutes, they arrested him.

Darien police spent 45 minutes early, early one morning trying to convince Eric Aho of Darien that he should find a way to get his $96.60 in cab fare from New Haven — even if he had to wake up a friend to do it.
He’d arranged with a cab driver from Metro Taxi in West Haven to take him to 512 Middlesex Rd. in Darien, where employee housing for the Ox Ridge Hunt Club is located. He agreed to the price. He’d asked the driver what payment would be accepted and was told cash or a credit card, according to the driver.
On arrival in Darien Aho later explained that he’d lost both cash and his credit cards earlier that evening. He wanted to give the driver a check, but the driver said he couldn’t accept that. An argument ensued. Aho, who had been drinking earlier, was said to be yelling and screaming at the driver.
