Photos: Durham Remembers 9/11 Ten Years Later [VIDEO]

A large crowd gathered on Durham's Town Green Sunday to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

For the tenth year, the Town of Durham honored the victims of the Sept. 11 attacks.

More than 200 people attended Sunday's ceremony on the Town Green, which included a poem reading, singing and remarks by local dignataries and residents.

"I first want to say that the people who died on that day, ten years ago, their families and their friends are in my thoughts and in my prayers and I say that on behalf of a very grateful community as evidenced by your attendance here today," said Durham First Selectman Laura Francis.

Earlier Sunday, at 8:46 a.m. and 9:02 a.m, Brett Eagleson, a Coginchaug High School graduate whose father Bruce died in the attacks, rang the bells at the United Churches of Durham at the precise times the planes struck the north and south towers of the World Trade Center.

The bells also rang to mark the attack at the Pentagon and the crash of Flight 93 in Shanksville, PA.

The following is a photo gallery and video of the memorial.
