Underage Drinking, Substance Abuse Subject of Community Conversation
Durham-Middlefield Youth and Family Services and the Local Wellness Council will host free event designed to engage the community on Thursday at the Durham Public Library.
The Durham Middlefield Local Wellness Council has joined Durham Middlefield Youth and Family Services (DMYFS) to sponsor a Community Conversation themed “..and how are the children?” The conversation is specifically designed to bring our community together to support our youth, increase awareness of underage drinking and substance use, and mobilize all to take action on behalf of our youth.
The Community Conversation is FREE, open to all and will be held on April 25th from 6:30-8:00 PM at the Durham Public Library.
We invite you as someone who cares about our young people to be a part of this critical conversation. Registration is not required but is greatly appreciated so that we can prepare enough materials and seating for the event. Please go to http://tinyurl.com/DMYFS-Conversationto register.
The importance of creating positive role models, safe environments and sound opportunities for our children to guide them to become happy, healthy, well rounded adults is paramount to the future success of our community. We hope to see you on April 25th so that you can be part of the solution.
