Still Snowed In? You Are Not Alone

There are still numerous roads around East Hampton and Portland that haven't yet been plowed, but many towns around the state are apparently struggling with the same problem.

Town leaders in some communities have said they may not get to clearing all of the roads until Monday, the Hartford Courant reports.

The situation has officials in some school districts anticipating that schools won't be able to open on Monday if town roads aren't cleared.

I n East Hampton, two of the town's plow trucks were disabled Friday night during plowing. In a reverse 911 call on Saturday night Town Manager Michael Maniscalco told residents road crews will be working in shifts all day and night to get the roads cleared.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy lifted a statewide travel plan at 4 p.m. on Saturday. Around 5 p.m. at least one tractor trailer got stuck broke down or got stuck on the Arrigoni Bridge, limiting travel over the span and backing up traffic into Middletown.

Check back later in the day on Patch for more updates on the blizzard.
