Firefighters are battling a massive fire that broke out at the New Haven oil terminal off of I-95 Saturday evening.

New Haven firefighters are battling a large fire after a transformer explosion at the oil terminal in New Haven Saturday evening.
The New Haven Fire Department responded to the fire around 5 p.m., according to the department’s Twitter account. A second alarm was called shortly after.
A large column of smoke could be seen as far away as Guilford, according to Fox CT reporter Mike Krafcik.

I-95 northbound between exits 48 and 50 was closed down, but is now open.
The fire was contained to the building that housed the transformer, according to the Hartford Courant.
