Ellington-Somers History: Where Was This Photo Taken?

Where was this photo taken?

Here's a hint, it is somewhere in Somers.

If you think you know the answer, respond in the "Leave a comment" box below this article. We'll run the answer next week, along with a new historical photo.

The image has been provided by the Somers Historical Society.

Last week's question was "What Was This Home?" and there was a correct guess. It is the Davis home on Watchaug Road.

According to Images of America: Somers, from the Somers Historical Society:

"The old Davis homestead, located at the bend in Watchaug Road, housed four generations of the family: Isaac, Isaac, Issac, and Eber Davis. By 1900, there was no trace of the building. Eber and Lucy's daughter Lomyra married Randolph Billings and, after his death, married Ralph King Jr. in whose Somersville home this picture and other memorabilia were found. Since this picture and one of the Ralph King house were both displayed in a fram with two pictures of the Kibbe Grove Batting Mill, the Davis or the King family may have had something to do with that mill."
