LUXE Beauty & Brows Open for Business

The boutique is the newest store in Somers.

Recently, Somers welcomed a new business into town – LUXE Beauty & Brows.

Owned by Susan Conte, the shop is unique and fun beauty store that sells makeup, skin care, soaps, perfumes, candles, handbags and jewelry.

The products are from all over the world.

“We’ve got some really cool and unusual products here at LUXE that aren’t anywhere else in the state so it’s really cool,” Conte said.

Conte has over 24 years of experience in the cosmetic and spa industry and is now bringing her talents to Somers.

The shop will specialize in brow design, hydrating hand treatments, as well as a variety of expert makeup services. The staff will help the client in selecting products for an easy and customized beauty routine.

Conte said that the idea started over 15 years ago and that she’s always wanted a store.

“I’ve always dreamed about it – wasn’t sure what it end up being – and I couldn’t be happier,” she said.

At a ribbon cutting ceremony, Conte thanked her friends and family, and also the community that has supported her.

Somers First Selectwoman Lisa Pellegrini told Conte that she is very happy she opened her store here and that she hopes Conte is immensely successful.

State Rep. Penny Bacchiochi had a proclamation from the state and also welcomed Conte to Somers.

“We’re so fortunate to have you,” she said.

She also reminded everyone to spread the word about local businesses and to shop local.

“Shop local and support our local people,” she said. “That’s what will keep our community strong.”

After the ribbon cutting, visitors had the chance to have some cake and check out what LUXE is all about.
