Foul Odor Prompts Brief Evacuation of Enfield High School

The building was evacuated for about 30 minutes, officials said.

ENFIELD, CT — The second day of classes brought about the first building evacuation of the new school year at Enfield High School Thursday, as a foul odor was detected.

Around 8:30 a.m., the odor prompted school officials to evacuate the high school as firefighters responded to the scene to conduct an evaluation. The school was deemed safe, and students and staff returned to the building around 9 a.m.
