FRED ASTAIRE DIRECTOR WINS TOP COMPETITION TEACHER AWARD AT REGIONALS

FRED ASTAIRE DIRECTOR WINS TOP COMPETITION TEACHER AWARD AT REGIONALS
Christian Lange, co-owner and director of Fred Astaire Southbury and South Windsor, recently won the Top Teacher Award at the Fred Astaire Regional Competition. There were close to fifty Fred Astaire instructors competing for the title. The award is based on competition placements and improvements among students.

“ I feel blessed having such wonderful students, so I feel that this award is actually an award for them”, says Mr. Lange.  “Without my students I would not be where I am today.  A special thanks to all my competing students for making this honor possible

Last year Fred Astaire Southbury had five students who brought home the championship title, Mr. Lange said. “Participating in our competitions gives every student the opportunity to progress more rapidly and become a better dancer sooner. Students focus on improvement and show off their skills on the floor.  They compete with other student dancers in order to take home a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award. We always create the most easygoing and enjoyable atmosphere for our students at the Regional and National Competitions. It eliminates the anxiety that usually takes place at these events, making the focus only on what’s important: their improvement and skills.

Mr. Lange has been teaching for ten years and is considered one of the preeminent ballroom instructors in the country. He began dancing when he was just four and over time has won several world-class championships including German Ten Dance Championship and North American rising Star Smooth Champion. He has guided several of his students to top honors in the competition arena, many of whom have risen to the very pinnacle of ballroom championships.

“We invite the community to come in and discover the fun and excitement of ballroom dancing,” says Mr. Lange. “We’re sure you’ll love our studio and feel right at home here. Our very popular Friday night practice parties
are a great place to brush up on your dance skills while enjoying our wonderful selection of refreshments and making new friends. We’ve made every effort to make Fred Astaire Southbury into a destination that will add joy and satisfaction to your life. You’ll soon discover that dancing is a   wonderful social pastime for both adults and kids, with many aerobic benefits.”

Fred Astaire Southbury is located at 316 Main Street South, Southbury CT. Tel: 203-267-7600.
