Meet Mehitable-Female Adventurer with Alice Plouchard Stelzer

Meet Mehitable-Female Adventurer with Alice Plouchard Stelzer

Date of Program:  Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 7:00 PM

Travel back in time at the Enfield Public Library as Alice Plouchard Stelzer presents,Meet Mehitable-Female Adventurer.

Dressed as a 17th century Puritan woman, Alice Plouchard Stelzer will captivate her audience as she shares stories from her book, Female Adventurers: the women who helped colonize Massachusetts and Connecticut.  The audience will gain insight into the commitment that the dozen of unsung heroes profiled in Alice’s book made, and the challenges they encountered when these courageous women left comfort behind and migrated into the wilderness of New England in the 1630s.

In one medium or another, Alice Plouchard Stelzer has been writing for over 25 years.  She has been a women’s magazine publisher and editor, newspaper editor, columnist, journalist, public relations consultant, mentor/coach to budding writers and has taught writing workshops on journaling, creativity, autobiography/memoir, and writing for your health.  Her love of women’s history lead Alice to write Female Adventurers, which is a key addition to the field, as well as a testament to Alice’s lifelong support of the women’s community.
