A Bridgeport man was charged Tuesday with breach of peace and interfering with a police officer in connection to a disturbance reported in September.

According to the police report, Joshua Bradley, 32, engaged in an altercation on Sept. 2 with a bus driver at the bus stop on the Post Road in front of Sherman Green.

The driver told police that Bradley spit on him and punched him in the shoulder during the fight, according to the arrest report. The driver described Bradley as a frequent rider who caused problems, department spokesperson Sgt. Sue Lussier said.

Police said Bradley did not listen to the responding officer's instructions to step away from the driver, according to the report. Bradley was transported to St. Vincent's Medical Center the day of the incident for a psychiatric evaluation, according to Lussier.

He was arrested on a warrant on Tuesday and was released on a promise to appear in court on Dec. 18.
