The series is a fictional portrayal of the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants in a Yorkshire County estate with the backdrop of the historical events which affect their lives. The time period depicted in Downton Abbey had many social, technological and political changes that were reflected in the notable evolution of women’s and men’s clothing. This program will explore those changes by looking back at what was fashionable-real or otherwise.

Jerome is the Collection Manager at the University of Rhode Island Historic Textile and Costume Collection. She earned her MS degree from the URI Department of Textiles, Fashion Merchandising and Design. Jerome also works as a textile and quilt conservator and a consultant to museums and historical societies.
