Fairfield Library to Hold Zika Wellness Program
'Zika Virus: Get the Facts' will be held at the Fairfield Woods Branch Library.

Fairfield, Conn. - Zika is the latest virus to worry the world. Spread largely through the bite of mosquitoes, infection during pregnancy can cause birth defects. Currently there is no vaccine available. Learn more about the Zika virus and its potential effect on global health from infectious disease specialist Dr. Majid Sadigh. Find out what you need to know to protect yourself. Join us for this Wellness program on Monday, August 29 at 6:30 pm at the Fairfield Woods Branch Library, 1147 Fairfield Woods Road. Registration is requested.
Majid Sadigh, MD, is Director of the Global Health program at the Western Connecticut Health Network, as well as an associate professor and Director of Global Health at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He has trained physicians and provided patient care from East Timor to Sri Lanka, from Russian to Guyana. In June of this year, he was recognized by the Connecticut Hospital Association for his work around the globe “providing critical medical care and easing the suffering of others.”
