  • Mill Hill Brownie Troop Book Drive: All day, Mill Hill Elementary School. "Alma Aurilio and her Brownie Troop #30286 of Southport are spearheading their first book drive for Read to Grow, an organization promoting early literacy across Connecticut."
  • Fun Day Friday for Teens: 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., Fairfield Public Library, free. "It’s Friday -- start the weekend off right -- drop in after school and watch movies, play games, work on crafts, get homework help and more."
  • Over the Rhine: 7 p.m., Fairfield Theatre Company, $25. "In these days when labels are slapped on everything willy-nilly, a band has three choices: go with the flow and fit snugly into an established niche, defy convention by creating a brand-new style or delve into so many styles that, short of rattling off a grocery list of roots and influences, the music would be impossible to practically categorize. Over the Rhine fits into the latter."

" The third annual “Hill Farm Fall Festival” will be held at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Fairfield on Saturday, October 6.  The event, from 10 am to 4 pm, will feature arts and crafts vendors, a selection of food and drink, and entertainment for children.
  • Used Clothing Drive to Benefit Notre Dame Cheer Team: 10 a.m., Notre Dame Catholic High School, free. " Please help the Notre Dame of Fairfield Cheer Team by supporting our used clothing drive. We are accepting clean wearable clothing (all seasons) for Men, Women, and Children. (No tears or stains)  Shoes (paired, please), purses, belts, hats, scarves, sheets, blankets, tablecloths, and towels. Bring bags to Notre Dame High School and follow the signs to the drop-off point." 
  • Osborn Hill Harvest Faire: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., Osborn Hill School, free.
