New York Woman Accused of Assaulting Police Officers in Fracas at Fairfield University
Jennifer Ann Cassano, 19, of Rye, N.Y., also allegedly assaulted an EMS worker after being released from police headquarters.

A 19-year-old woman from New York faces several charges, including allegedly assaulting a police officer and later an emergency medical services worker in separate incidents Friday night that all started with a dispute with her boyfriend at the Fairfield University campus, according to the Fairfield Citizen.
The Citizen reports that Jennifer Ann Cassano, of Rye, New York, was arrested on two counts of breach of peace, one count of assault on a police officer and one count of assault on EMS personnel.
The initial arrest stems from an incident in which Cassano, who was believed to be intoxicated, fought with her boyfriend in a Fairfield University parking lot and she later allegedly assaulted the responding police officers, including kicking one in the knees and hitting another in the chest with a closed fist, according to the Citizen.

After Cassano was taken to police headquarters and released to the custody of her mother, the Citizen reports that a patrol officer observed a car moving erratically on North Benson Road and discovered that it was driven by one of Cassano’s parents and the erratic driving was caused by Jennifer Cassano’s attempt to climb into the driver’s seat.
The Citizen reports that police called an ambulance to the scene and Cassano allegedly struck one of the EMTs and that led to the additional charges.
