Road Trip Interrupted By Vehicle Fire At I-95 Rest Stop
The driver stopped to get a coffee and returned to find the vehicle ablaze.
FAIRFIELD, CT — A driver's road trip was interrupted early Thursday morning when a vehicle caught fire at a Fairfield rest stop, a fire official said. The driver — who was traveling from Norwalk to Maine on Interstate 95 — stopped about 4:30 a.m. to get a coffee at the Exit 22 service area, but when the driver returned to the vehicle it was ablaze, according to Fairfield Fire Department Assistant Chief Roger Caisse. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and there were no injuries, Caisse said.
