Video of Shell Gas Station Burglary Suspect Released

Police are looking for help identifying the man in the video.

Fairfield police are investigating a commercial burglary at the Shell gas station at 2424 Black Rock Turnpike and have released surveillance video in an effort to find the suspect.

The burglary occurred around 5 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 5. The suspect allegedly used a large rock to smash the lower portion of the front glass door to gain entry, according to police.

The man -- described as a light-skinned black or Hispanic male, bald, wearing jeans, a hooded sweatshirt, and blue and white Nike sneakers -- went behind the front counter and took approximately 30 cartons of cigarettes and $100 in change from a safe, according to the report.

He was operating a dark-colored SUV, possibly a mid-90s Chevy Blazer or GMC type of vehicle, police said.

Any person or agency able to identify the suspect, or anyone with further information, should contact Detective Alex Fucci at 203-254-4840 or afucci@town.fairfield.ct.us.

Surveillance footage is featured in the gallery.
