Glastonbury Town Council Renews Town Manager's Contract

The Town Council voted unanimously to extend Town Manager Richard J. Johnson’s four-year contract through 2016 at their Nov. 19 meeting, citing his strong work ethic and leadership during the town’s recent weather-related crises.

After hearing from members of the council, who openly praised the town manager’s professionalism, confidence, and budget work, the council unanimously voted to renew Johnson’s contract until 2016. Under the next year of the contract, Johnson’s salary will increase by 2 percent to $166,260.

Johnson received a 3.16 percent raise in 2011, but denied raises in 2009 and 2010, according to the town.
