82-Year-Old Greenwich Man Faces Assault Charge

An 82-year-old Greenwich man is facing a third-degree assault charge in connection with an attack on a disabled family member, according to Greenwich Police.

The incident took place March 11 at the suspect’s backcountry home and reported by the 52-year-old victim’s caregivers, according to Lt. Kraig Gray.

Richard Swanson was arrested at 8:36 p.m. March 18 at his 11 Carpenter’s Brook Rd. home, according to a police report.

Swanson was released after posting at $250 bond and was to be arraigned March 19 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
