ART IS LOVE
C. Parker Gallery's exhibition in Greenwich explores the relationship between art and love. Art is love and love is art.
In keeping with the Valentine’s Day spirit, C. Parker Gallery presents a celebratory exhibit entitled ART IS LOVE. The artists featured use color, light and texture to infuse their work with emotion, capturing the passion and vitality of this most amorous time of the year.
The notions of whimsy and romance is evident in the dark theatricality of Anne-Marie Kornachuk’s exquisitely rendered figurative paintings and Lenore Gimpert’s large loose floral works. Local Greenwich artist Victoria Brooks Melly presents atmospheric sea and landscapes that harken back to the idyllic poetry of Byron, Shelley and Keats and contrast sharply to Cecil Touchon’s bold and architectural collages that interpose the gallery. Jodie Mauer’s works capture the contemporaneous nature of this amorous holiday with her impasto technique. As a group exhibition, the show is a reminder of our artists’ exceptional abilities, as well as a thrilling introduction to the newest talent added to our recently enhanced roster.
Like a box of chocolates, ART IS LOVE provides an irresistible assortment of artwork, promising the enchantment of Valentines’ Day celebration.
