Boys and Girls Club Greenwich Names 2015 Youth of the Year

Congratulations to this young man who's now competing for the Connecticut Youth of the Year Award.

Selected among seven local outstanding youth, Alberto Larraguibel, affectionately known as ‘Chile’, was named 2015 Youth of the Year for the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich.

As the Youth of the Year for Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich, 17-year-old Alberto is a true example of a commendable young man recognized by Boys & Girls Clubs of Greenwich for his outstanding contributions to his family, school, community and Boys & Girls Club, as well as overcoming personal challenges and obstacles. Youth of the Year encourages Club members to reach their full potential by achieving academic success, leading healthy lifestyles and contributing to their communities.

Larraguibel will compete against other Boys & Girls Club members for the Connecticut Youth of the Year title and a $1,000 college scholarship. Being named Youth of the Year is the highest honor a Boys & Girls Club member can receive. Larraguibel is among hundreds of local Youth of the Year winners across the country recognized by Boys & Girls Clubs of America for his sound character, leadership skills and willingness to give back to the community.

Youth of the Year honorees are shining examples and living proof that great futures start at Boys & Girls Clubs. Noteworthy BGCG finalists for the 2015 Youth of the Year include: Ashley Annakie, Bruna Ribeiro da Cunha, Gabriel Lustosa, Katie Piro, Jeremy Rivera and Nico Venegas.
