Update: 'Suspicious Package' Left at Greenwich Train Station Not a Safety Hazard, Police Say
The Greenwich Train Station was closed for 2 hours Sunday because of a report of a suspicious package left there. Trains have been delayed.

Update 4:15 p.m. Normal train service has resumed on the New Haven Line. The Greenwich Station is now open. Customers should expect delays of 20-30 minutes.
Update 4 p.m. Greenwich police say the suspicious package is non-hazardous and was either abandoned or forgotten by a travel. All police units are leaving the scene.
Update 3:50 p.m. Greenwich police say, “In an abundance of caution, the buildings in the IMMEDIATE vicinity are being evacuated.”

The police activity is the results of a suspicious package on the platform and Stamford Bomb Squad is accessing.

According to Metro North, the Greenwich train station is currently closed to customers due to Police Department activity.
Metro North says the New Haven Line is delayed up to an hour due to police acitivity at the Greenwich Train Station.
Police are investigating a “suspicious package” at the Greenwich Metro-North train station. Pedestrians and vehicles cannot access the station’s platform.
Greenwich and MTA police are investigating.
