Celebrating National Senior Center Month in Greenwich

Local seniors helped create posters outlining the contributions senior citizens make to the community.

In honor of National Senior Center Month, the Greenwich Senior Center held its “I Believe” senior empowerment event on Thursday.

During the past several weeks, center members have been writing down their thoughts to raise awareness on the value and contributions of older adults. The center staff created posters using those thoughts and created a display in the center, located at 299 Greenwich Ave.

At the Sept. 18 ceremony, Dr. Paul Epstein delivered an inspirational message about feeling good about the golden years. First Selectman Peter Tesei read and presented a proclamation to the Senior Center for its work in enhancing the lives of Greenwich seniors aged 55 and up.
