A Curiosity Concert -- 'HMS Pinafore'
Greenwich Choral Society members to present program with Curiosity Concerts and Greenwich Arts Council.

Take a ride on the British ship the HMS Pinafore with members of the Greenwich Choral Society, led by music director Paul F. Mueller.
Enjoy an afternoon of musical hilarity in this semi-staged version of a Gilbert & Sullivan classic. Presented by Curiosity Concerts and the Greenwich Arts Council in partnership with the Greenwich Choral Society.
More than 30 voices present highlights from this comic opera hit from 1878, with music by Arthur Sullivan and a libretto by W.S. Gilbert. Follow the story of Josephine, the captain’s daughter in love with sailor Ralph Rackstraw ... but who is supposed to marry Sir Joseph Porter, the First Lord of the Admiralty. Josephine tries to honor her father’s marriage wishes, but eventually she and Ralph announce their love and plan to elope. The captain is furious that she would marry a common sailor ... until “Little Buttercup,” a dockside vendor with a secret, changes everyone’s perspective. Little Buttercup reveals that she once cared for babies and mixed up Ralph and the captain when they were infants. Ralph was, in fact, destined to be captain, creating a platform for upbeat musical comedy.
