Eversource is planning to remove a utility pole on Bible Street in Cos Cob on Wednesday which will force a road closure and a detour through the area.
The pole is located at 180 Bible St. and crews will need about eight hours remove it and install new guy wires to a new pole, according to Tracey Alston, an Eversource community relations specialist.
Alston said there won’t be any outages as a result of the work. The street will be closed to through traffic because of the large trucks and equipment needed to perform the work, Alston told the Greenwich Board of Selectmen which approved the closure at its meeting Thursday.

Northbound motorists will need to detour onto Clover Place to Dandy Drive to Valley Road to Cat Rock Road. Southbound drivers will follow the same route, only in reverse.
