Driver Faces DWI Charge After Nearly Hitting Bridge Pillar in Greenwich
The driver was arrested after 4 a.m. Sunday in the Byram neighborhood of Greenwich.

Greenwich Police arrested a driver early Sunday after he was seen by officers veering onto the shoulder of Delavan Avenue and nearly striking a pillar supporting the I-95 overpass near the Exit 2 interchange.
According to a police report, Rene A. Murillo, 43, of 17 Vassar Ave., Stamford, was arrested after he was stopped at 4:18 a.m. Sept. 14. Murillo allegedly had an odor of alcohol, red, glassy eyes and failed field sobriety tests. He also was accused of failing to use a turn signal as he entered the northbound on-ramp at Exit 2, according to the report.
Murillo was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to drive right and failure to use a turn signal. He was released after posting $500 bond. He’s scheduled to appear Sept. 29 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
