A Fake Benjamin Leads To Woman's Arrest

Greenwich Police charged a woman with using a counterfeit $100 bill to buy less than $10 in goods at a local store.

A woman is facing first-degree forgery and interfering with an officer charges after she allegedly used what was found to be a counterfeit $100 bill to buy less than $10 in goods from a Greenwich Avenue business.

The woman was arrest shortly before 9 p.m. Oct. 30 by officers investigating a report that a woman was using a fake $100 bill to make a purchase at the unidentified Greenwich Avenue store.

Gloria L. Erazo, 19, of Queens, NY, reportedly gave officers numerous and evasive statements about who she was with and what transpired during the day, according to a police report.

Erazo’s bond was set at $5,000 and she was given a Nov. 7 date to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford.
