Learn how to harvest shellfish in Greenwich.

From the Bruce Museum.

Greenwich shellfishing will be the focus of the First Sunday Science at the Seaside Center program on Sunday, March 1, from 1:30 to 4 p.m.

Ed Stilwagen of Atlantic Clam Farms and Jadar Nygaard of Hemlock Oyster Company will talk about “Commercial Shellfishing in Greenwich Waters” at 2 p.m. Visitors of all ages are welcome to enjoy a raw bar of oysters and clams and family-oriented activities throughout the afternoon. The activities include microscopic looks inside a clam, exploration of the marine touch tank, and a recreational shellfishing demonstration led by members of the Greenwich Shellfish Commission.
