Greenwich Avenue Victoria's Secret to Close?
The store's approximately 15 employees were notified Dec. 30 that the 200 Greenwich Avenue location would be closing mid January, according to a report citing an anonymous source close to the matter.
One of the most widely recognized brands in the retail fashion industry, , owned by Limited Brands, is reportedly closing its Avenue store on Jan. 15.
According to a report in the Greenwich Time, citing an anonymous source close to the matter, the store manager notified its approximately 15 employees on Dec. 30 that the lingerie company was not meeting sales quotas and that the location would be closing mid January.
The Greenwich Avenue store is the only Victoria’s Secret in town, however there are 16 other stores in Connecticut including one nearby in the Stamford Town Center.

As the article points out, Greenwich resident and former supermodel was one of the first Victoria's Secret Angels.
A Dec. 15 post in Forbes.com said Limited Brands posted strong results in November "riding primarily on the growth of its most well known brand, Victoria’s Secret," which, according to Trefis.com, currently accounts for about 55 percent of the company's revenues.
