The Greenwich Fathers’ Forum second session of the season, “Who are your Children’s Friends,” will be held at 8 a.m. Dec. 6 at the YMCA of Greenwich and will focus on the peer relationships our children develop.
Speakers for the meeting will be John Hamilton and Chris Harris. Hamilton is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and CEO at Recovery Network for Programs, a non-profit, social service agency serving the greater Bridgeport community. Harris, a local Greenwich father, will share the real life tragedy of his son, Christopher, who passed away less than three years ago.
Peer relationships, especially friendships, serve several important roles in children’s and adolescents’ personal and social development. They often serve as role models and provide standards for acceptable behavior. The speakers will discuss how to foster positive peer relationships and the warning signs, along with the impact, of potentially destructive ones.
