Greenwich to Get Small Coating of Snow, Rain and Sleet Later

The National Weather Service predicts worse weather for those traveling upstate.

Light snow in Greenwich will turn to rain and sleet as the day progresses, according to the National Weather Service.

Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation will be less than one inch for Greenwich. The temperature will eventually rise to about 45 degrees and rain will come along with it.

The National Weather Service predicts parts of upstate Connecticut will get more snow than initially anticipated.

A winter weather advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for parts of Connecticut that calls for snow and icy conditions Saturday.

The advisory in Hartford, Tolland, Litchfield and Windham counties predicts a mix of light snow and freezing rain from 4 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday. Snow accumulation is predicted to be between two and four inches, along with a trace of ice.

Snow is predicted to start between 2 and 5 p.m. Saturday and will transition to sleet and then freezing rain around midnight, according to NWS.

Light snow will start on the Connecticut shoreline by early afternoon and will change to rain sometime in the evening, according to WTNH.

Sunday will warm up to a high of 60 degrees on Sunday, but will plummet into the low 30’s or high 20’s Monday depending on the area, according to WTNH.
