Greenwich HS Football Coach Albonizio Resigns

According to a report, the coach who's been at the helm since 1997 has resigned, along with the rest of his staff.

Greenwich High School football coach Rich Albonizio and his staff have reportedly quit.

The reasons for the mass resignation remains a bit of a mystery although Albonizio told The Stamford Advocate there was some pressure involved in his decision.

The 64-year-old Albonizio has led the Greenwich Cardinals to five FCIAC championships as well as three Class LL titles. This year, the Cards were 7-4. Albonizio has led the team since 1997.
