Greenwich Man Faces Charge He Strangled Woman
A Greenwich man is facing strangulation and assault charges following an argument that turned physical, according to Greenwich Police.
According to a police report, the victim went to police headquarters about 11:30 a.m. Jan. 17 to report the incident that occurred at a Riversville Road residence. The victim had red marks on her neck, according to the report.
Patrick M. Baugier, 48, of 367 Riversville Rd., is accused of grabbing the woman by the neck, pushing her down on a bed while still holding her neck, according to the report Baugier is accused of holding the woman "for a short time." After the victim filed a report with police, Baugier was arrested in Stamford, according to the report.
He was charged with second-degree strangulation, third-degree assault and disorderly conduct and released after posting a $1,000 bond. According to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website, the case is awaiting disposition and Baugier is scheduled to appear Feb. 25 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
