Greenwich Man Faces Charges Following Drunken Incident
Police: The suspect is accused of trying to fight the friend who gave him a ride because he was 'heavily intoxicated.'

A Greenwich man, described by Greenwich Police as being “heavily intoxicated,” is facing several charges after he tried to fight his friend who gave him a ride home and was yelling at his girlfriend.
According to a police report, Salvatore C. Sullo, 31 of 85 Strickland Rd., Greenwich, was arrested following an incident on Cos Cob Avenue, shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday. An unidentified friend of Sullo gave him and his girlfriend a ride home following an accident in nearby Port Chester, NY. “On the way back Sullo, who was heavily intoxicated became violent, attempting to fight his friend and began screaming at his girlfriend, causing residents from the apartment complex to call 911,” according to the report.
Sullo was arrested on a breach of peace charge. Then other charges were added by the arresting officer who wrote in the report, “During the arrest process Sullo became combative with the officer at headquarters, resisting (the) officer’s attempts to put him into the cell. A subsequent search of his clothing revealed a baggy (sic) containing what turned out to be white powder cocaine.”

Sullo was then charged with interfering with police and illegal possession of narcotics. He was held overnight in lieu of $2,500 bond to appear in state Superior Court on Monday. According to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website, Sullo was released after the court appearance on a $2,500 bond and scheduled to return to court Nov. 4.
